ANALYZE THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN
YOUR SISTER AND MYSELF.
My family consists four people. They are parents, my sister and me. , my father is an engineer working for a government office. My mother is a house wife. My sister is a primary school teacher, and I am a high school student. Even though my sister and I differ in physical appearance, We share similarities in hobbies, holiday destinations and point of view about life .
One obvious difference is our physical appearance. I am a boy .I am not handsome, short and fat and look brown. I have curly hair. My sister is a beautiful girl with a slender build and fair complexion. She has long black hair and an attractive oval face with big brown eyes.
We are alike in three respects. One of them is hobbies. We are very fond of music. When we have free time, We often listen to our favourite songs from an old cassette recorder. On weekends, we usually go to music shops in the downtown areas to get good recordings. Among famous pop singers, We prefer Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Madonna and Paul Mc Cartney. We are very like the news and documentaries on the television best. The new programs shown in all TV channels at 7 P.M. help us to know almost everything in different places in our country and important events happening all over the world. Through these programs, we can also know both national and international main sporting events. The documentary programs on weekends are our favourites. By watching them, we can learn a great deal about human civilizations, the wonders of nature and the amazing inventions and discoveries of great people in the world. Beside, we are very fond of interesting books, too. We often go to the bookshops to look for good books and spend a lot of money on them. We read simple English books which help to improve my English. We also read good Vietnamese books on general sciences to widen our knownledge. When selecting the book to read, I always avoid buying bad ones because they are not helpful to us at all. Some of them even spoil the reader’s mind. The second our respects is holiday destinations .We like to have a holiday at the seaside. At that, in the morning we can swim in the sea, play with the waves and collect sea-shells along the shore. After lunch, we have a short rest under lager umbrellas near the water. We enjoyed gusts of fresh wind blowing from the sea while looking out at white waves and little fishing boats in the distance. In the afternoon, we went on swimming in the water and played ball on the sandy beach. At about 5 P.M. we gathered on the hill gazing at the beautiful sight of the sun going down into the sea. It was such a wonderful scene .
The third our respects is point of view about life .We think choosing a profession for ourself is a very important thing. After having considered carefully ,we decide to choose teaching for our future profession. To us, teaching is noble profession , which is highly respected in our society. A teacher is regarded as a “mind engineer” , who helps to produce the future masters of the country .Beside good knowledge, we have some basic qualifications of a typical teacher such as patience, honesty, kindness and deep lover for children . Although most teacher’s salaries are unsatisfactory, we are not going to change my mind and choose another well-paid job. We often think “What is the happiness?”.There are different opinion of how to obtain a happy life. When talking about happiness, some of people emphasize the element of money, others stress on health, and still others attribute happiness to personal intelligence and even to political power. In our opinion , happiness depends on our physical and mental life. When we have enough money, good health and peaceful minds, we are sure to be happy. However, a person only has real happiness when he is satisfied with what he is possessing and willing to share his happiness with the other people who are lucky.
My sister and I share several similarities in our personality, so we are very happy .We love each other very much and expect to live together under the same roof forever.
